This last week has seen the roof being partially installed, the roofing company got their quantities wrong for the first delivery so it won't be finished according to schedule! We have got 0.40BMT Q-Deck long run coloursteel in Windsor Grey colour.
A white coloured underlay goes under the metal profile roof, then sheets are screwed down onto the roofing timbers.
The barge boards for suspending the coloursteel guttering were then put in place.
More pictures when it is finally completed!

Going vertical
We had an inspection of the house on our return from Australia (in the rain) where there had been progress with the Solitex vapour barrier installation and all the sealing of the concrete on the outside with special polystyrene.
The scaffolding was all in place and a start had been made by the roofer with some of the flashings. The wire under the roof was also in place.

Raising the walls
We picked the wrong time to go away for a couple of weeks, missing much of the raising of the walls, which happens so quickly now that most of the frames are made offsite, ready to link together. This process all appeared to proceed without any issues over about a week, firstly with the walls then the roof profiles.

Putting down the foundations
On our site the foundation is sand which had already been compacted by the developer many years ago. There should have been a better re-check of this during the investigative phase but a routine Council building site inspection established the need for a recheck on the seaward side and some extra piles were rapidly put in place.
Waiting for a clear break in the weather was a key requirement, but on the day of the foundation pour it was a great Spring morning, although the concrete trucks had to fight for space between whitebaiters and other builders on the street!
Within 6 hours it was all done and a couple of floor finishers were left to smoothe off the edges. The wooden supports were removed the next day and all appeared well.
